Jesse's Train

This is an animation I did for the BNPR animation jam, with a timeline of 3 weeks to complete it from scratch.
It's about a train conductor and an outlaw who hijacks the train.
Due to the time constraints, I decided to go for models that were low-poly with lots of stylization, and an environment that was simplified but appealing.

The rearview mirror is colored greens in these shots as they're unedited- in post the reflection is added in to compensate for a specific shot where she notices someone's on the side of the train.

The "conductor" of the train.

Jesse.

The train itself was a lot of fun to model and rig. The smoke effect was also a joy to generate procedurally.

The train has a couple of anti-theft deterrents.

The grappling rifle. Went a bit extra animating a collapsability feature that went unused.

A revolver.
